From Marketing to Meaning: How One Call Shifted My Perspective

At AAR Homes, we help people with property. But every once in a while, something extraordinary happens—a moment that goes way beyond bricks and mortar. A moment that reminds you exactly why you do what you do.

This morning, I had one of those moments.

It started with a simple response to one of our marketing messages. We arranged for me to call him today. I expected a straightforward property chat—quick, practical, transactional.

But what unfolded stopped me in my tracks.

What I thought would be a routine conversation turned into something soul-stirring. It was a heartfelt, soul-nourishing exchange that lasted longer than expected—but somehow felt like it ended too soon. We didn’t just talk about property. We spoke about life. About family. About what really matters when the workday ends and the doors of home close behind us.

He spoke to me like an older brother—gentle, wise, and warm. He offered advice that felt personal and sincere. He told me how proud he is of every woman—because women, he said, are the core of the family. They hold everything together. And as he spoke, something in me softened. I felt seen. Understood. Respected.

I was moved. Inspired. Emotional. Proud.

As a mumpreneur, I wear many hats. I run a business I care deeply about—and I take that very seriously. But my proudest title will always be Mummy. I do the school runs. I show up for clubs. I cook with love. I’m present for the small, seemingly ordinary moments—the ones that quietly build the magic of childhood.

And yes, there are days when I can’t take a call or attend a meeting because my children come first—and I say that unapologetically. Because that is what makes me feel most fulfilled.

But let me be clear—this isn’t everyone’s path, and that’s okay.
Some mums can’t do the school runs. Some can’t attend every club or event in person. And that’s okay too. We all have different battles, and we fight them with strength and pride—sometimes with our presence, and sometimes with our spirit. Every way is valid. Every mother is doing her best. And I see you.

Still, I’ve heard it before—“You won’t be taken seriously in business if you say you were cooking or looking after kids.” And I’ve always felt strongly that this needs to change.

And today, it did—even just for a moment.

This gentleman changed that narrative for me. He didn’t diminish the value of motherhood in business—he honoured it. He showed me that being a woman, a mother, and a business owner is not only possible—it’s powerful.

Next week, I’ll meet him in person. And honestly, I don’t know if this beautiful conversation will lead to a business deal—but that doesn’t even matter. Because it’s already left lasting footprints on my life. It made me pause. Reflect. And remember that there are people out there who match and respect my values.

So today, I’m celebrating him—for being unapologetically honest, kind, and open. For reminding me that business doesn’t always have to be hard-nosed and impersonal. Sometimes, it’s the conversations that speak to the soul that make the biggest impact.

More women are stepping into business every day—and when we do, we bring not just knowledge and strength, but passion, depth, and love. We nurture. We lead. We show up with intention. And we make things better—not just in business, but in the lives we touch.

At AAR Homes, I bring that energy into every conversation, every valuation, every relationship.
